Cisco Ontario’s Fastest Kid and Ottawa Lions Speed Fest

The Ottawa Lions are pleased to host the Eastern Ontario qualifier for the Second Annual Cisco Ontario Fastest Kid competition Saturday  Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility at Mooney’s Bay.

The competition will start at 11:30am with a Speed Fest to determine the fastest kids aged 6-12 in Eastern Ontario over 60m.

The top 8 boys and girls aged 11 or younger (born in 2002 or later) will compete over 100m in the final of the Easter Ontario Cisco Fastest Kid Qualifier. The winner for each gender will win a Timex watch and a trip to Toronto to compete in the Cisco Ontario Fastest Kid Final at the Toronto International Games on June 11th at the University of Toronto’s Varsity Stadium.

Rules:

All participants must fill in a registration form and submit it to Joe Burke ( jburke@ottawalions.com) by Friday, May 31, 2013 at 9 am. No onsite entries will be accepted.

All athletes must check in at the Speed Fest Entry Table by 11:10 am on the day of competition to confirm their entry and receive their competitor number. Athletes arriving late may be disqualified from the competition.

No spikes or starting blocks may be used during the competition.

All entries in the Cisco Fastest Kid in Ontario will run heats over 60 meters and the final will be run over 100 meters.

All other races will be over 60 meters.

Seeding for all races will be by age.

The winners of the Cisco Fastest Kid in Ontario will be asked to produce a valid proof of their birth date before receiving their prizes.

Bring the whole family and enjoy watching international track and field. Some of the best decathletes and heptathletes from across the Americas will be competing in Ottawa on June 1st and 2nd as part of the Panamerican Combined Events Cup.
